NEW LASER CENTER OPENS IN GLASTONBURY

12/7/01 - With cheers and great expectations, the new Filatov Eye Institute laser center opened last night in Glastonbury, CT.

The Filatov Eye Institute team was welcomed to the community by State Representative Sonya Googins and by Walter Cusson, Chairman of the Glastonbury Town Council and Eric Pearson, Executive Director of the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce. Other guests included physicians, eye care professionals, members of the press and many other Greater Hartford residents.

In a laser center fully decked for the occasion, Medical Director Dr. Vadim Filatov thanked everyone for their warm welcome and introduced LASIK surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Gold, who will be operating in the facility along with him.

In describing the genesis of Filatov Eye Institute, Dr. Filatov recalled how his vision for excellence in patient care and laser vision correction was shaped by his early interest in mathematics and neuroscience.

The opening of this new Filatov Eye Institute laser center embodies the success of this vision. In the light-hearted and congenial atmosphere, many participants took advantage of the LASIK screenings offered. At around 8:00PM, after the ribbon had been cut and the center officially opened, the guests went home with a souvenir and, for some, with the promise of better vision in the near future.
